So you have bought your first Canadian .ca domain names and are looking to start out with your website empire but where to begin with advertising products and services on your website?

You will have to sign up with various affiliate programs and apply to the different companies for their individual programs. Once accepted you can start putting their ads on your website and track their performance - and hopefully your earnings. And that's the hardest part - tracking your performance, tweaking the ads and their positions, and finally their return to you and the affiliate company.

Random approaches to the user generally skate across a "no one will ever click this" gray area. Try for specific items, like natural dry towels for a sustainable living website or free shipping vendors for remanufactured printers. Domainers know when they trip over a great site, the resources absorb your time and eyeballs.

A blanket posse of ad blocks and ubiquitous feeds can make a nice appendix, but it hardly presents an appealing front page. Evaluate your best content, and put it on top. Leave one paragraph and on the next page where the continuation is, include some links and descriptions that keep readers jotting down sites to visit.

Simply put you will have to continually track and otherwise check your ads for best performance. Some companies change their programs so you will have to add or remove banners and text links just because of that. But don't let the hard work discourage you as once you have it figured out you will start making money.
