Not Canadian? CIRA Does Not Seem To Care
A thread was started on the domain name forum DNForum.com in which a question was asked in regards to reporting .ca domains or owners of .ca domains who don't meet the residency requirements established by CIRA for ownership and control of a .ca domain name and the responses were rather telling.
CIRA - Canadian Internet Registration Authority, oversees the .ca registry in Canada. It is their job to police the domain name space to ensure quality and compliance but when it comes to the manner of actually enforcing the rules they seem rather lazy, suspect or just plain non-caring. When some of the largest domain name holders and website creators cannot get action from them - who can? CIRA has no clear reporting function, only a general contact and that in itself is not very reassuring.

Tips on Registering Domains
Registering a domain for your Company can be an easy task however choosing the right name for your personal site/ business site can be little bit harder. I would like to share some tips in this post that can help you to choose the domain name and register it with ease and comfort.
Choosing a brandable or keyword domainMany of you may be confused to choose a brandable name or keyword for your Domain Name. The answer really depends upon how you gonna promote your website once developed. If you are depending upon organic traffic from Search Engines like google – I would suggest you to use keyword domains. But if you have good advertising budget for promoting your website or already have an existing brand – brandable names are the best choice for you. Brandable names are easy to remember from the perspective of the end users.

New Website To Place .ca Domain Name Backorders
Ever wondered how domainers can quickly scan the To Be Released expiring domain name lists and find the best quality domain names? Well wonder no longer - and take your place alongside them with TBR.ca.
TBR.ca allows you to place backorders on expiring .ca domain names each week without first placing a credit amount on file. You also only pay if your domain name is successfully acquired and you win the post-drop auction. If nobody bids against you, you only pay the initial backorder price. It doesn't get any easier or more affordable than that!

New Canadian Domain Name Sales Venue
Canadian domain name owners and those looking for good quality .ca domain names have been asking for it, now it has come true. Twice!
There are at least two new Canadian domain name sales venues coming to service the domain name market in Canada. The first to be launched and open to the public is the one run by registrar MyID.ca. Already with thousands of .ca domains the MyID .ca sales venue has beat the competition out of the gate.

New Canadian Domain Name and Website Owners Advertising Methods
So you have bought your first Canadian .ca domain names and are looking to start out with your website empire but where to begin with advertising products and services on your website?
You will have to sign up with various affiliate programs and apply to the different companies for their individual programs. Once accepted you can start putting their ads on your website and track their performance - and hopefully your earnings. And that's the hardest part - tracking your performance, tweaking the ads and their positions, and finally their return to you and the affiliate company.

Monetizing Canadian Domain Names
Monetizing Canadian domain names is a standard practice online and in the Internet industry that domain owners do to promote their websites and domain values. Monetizing to me is the full solution set of options, content, architecture, advertisements, affiliate offers, widgets, and features that go on a website. You can monetize a website just by putting up a keyworded text entry, a captioned Youtube, that is connected to your site's topic.
The Monetizer's query immediately asks how this bring money to the site owner. What it brings is site visitors, because once the Youtube capacity is opened up, a host account for that website can be utilized to visit other video upload at Youtube and direct traffic back to the site via linking. Dynamic content drives a website, and a text only site with no video to give a lazy browser "something to do". One tasty link to anew resource could be the most trafficked thing on your landing page.

The Risks And Rewards of Domain Name Investing
One domainer I know has the habit of emailing me when he is thinking of acquiring domains. I find this curious, because the domains we have developed have suffered from his lack of grooming. How can someone understand an Estibot estimate if they are ignorant of what Alexa ranking is? I do not say that Alexa rankings are the be-all and end-all of domaining existence. But to claim the value of a domain name that lies available for purchase according to the perceived value of one line (of an Estibot) when you don't understand the definition of the value a few lines below it, that is part of the same valuation, is spurious.
Can Estibot predict the ultimate resale utility of a potential domain acquisition? If it could, wouldn't we all be millionaires?
This is a domainer who refused to augment his content or add to his link directory. He will trawl websites looking for domains when he has viable hosted sites that need detailing. But I get a fresh email on every action item. Until I feel this guy is developing his own domains at least as hard as I am trying to develop mine, why should I pander to his ad hoc Q & A session? I am willing to be part of the learning curve of many newbies, but there comes a time when spoon feeding is over. I see no reason to give blanket assurances about "crystal ball" values.

2010 Off To A Great Start For Canadian Domain Names
2010 has started with a bang for Canada's .ca domain name. Between private sales, auction sales and TBR sales, 2010 is shaping up to be a great year for .ca domains.
2009 saw a huge slump over 2008 due to the worldwide recession. Sales were down, auctions were not so fierce and end-users were harder to find. Domain name forum sales were also down sharply, but for bargain buyers or those looking to buy and hold for better days, 2009 presented a good buying opportunity. Now that the economy is turning around, .ca domain name sales are on the increase.

Domain Name Investing
By Guest Author
Successfully investing in domain names is a form of investment that can be highly lucrative - and you too can do it after gaining some needed upfront knowledge before tackling the Domain Name Industry. Prior to starting to invest in .ca, .com and other domains you need to learn the basics of domain names, possess the skills in evaluating the market value of a domain and stay up to date with the industry specific news. The Canadian domain name and website buyers are a smaller group than the wider domain industry - though some are into both. Get to know some of them, their knowledge can put you on the right track.
As any other financial advisor would say – “Don’t put all your eggs in a one basket”, I would advise you to invest only a little portion of your money on domains in the initial phase. After you learn the ins and outs of the trade, you could start investing more money and be ready to take more risks.
Investing in domain names, including Canadian domain names, can be both fun and lucrative on many levels. But look before you leap. Read on to learn more.
